Press Coverage!!!

I'm been bursting to share the news of this with you all, but contained it just in case it didn't come about! I was contacted by the editor of Your West Midlands Wedding Magazine and asked if I would be interested in sending some images over of my wedding stationery for a feature they were writing! I was over the moon just at being contacted, it was great that they had found me even as my website is not even live yet!!

I jumped at the chance and sent over some pictures of my designs. Well I was thrilled to see the magazine had arrived when I got home from work yesterday and even more thrilled to find 5 of my designs had been featured, one of them the birdcage design that were our own wedding invitations! It is a fabulous feature, I'm so flattered to have been contacted and chosen and featured along side some other talented stationers. I was also over the moon to find that I was also the Editor's pick for the issue!!! I'm one happy girly at finally seeing my work in print, it has been an ambition of mine for a long time!! I have ordered several copies, one for our mum's and dad's and one to show customers and have one my stands at wedding fairs.

Here is the feature!

A huge thank you to Danielle the editor for contacting me, including me and for her lovely words about my work! A great start to the weekend!

Hubby has had a bug, slightly better but not 100% yet, while he is resting this weekend I'll be crafting ;)

Have a good one folks!

French chic ensemble

Back in February I was invited round for a craft day by the lovely Jacqui Gilbert and Debbie Bend. We had a fab time crafting the hours away and Debbie showed us how to make these super cute little magnets that nest inside these little tins. I then made a notepad and a little gift box to match. I ended up using Debbie's stamp set, Stampendous charm collection, I LOVED them!! Needless to say ordered a set as soon as I got home, gorgeous little stamps just the right size for tags etc, I love that little postcard and Eiffel Tower stamp. Again I'm sure these will get lots of use and you will be seeing them again ;) Jacqui kindly let us raid some of her stash and the gorgeous paper on the notepad was courtesy of her, as were the little gems and box. The paper used for the magnets and the tin were Prima Printery, again I love these! We had a lovely day chatting away and it was nice to just craft for the sake of it for a change!

So here is the little gift set that came about. I'm sure you will be seeing similar things pop up in my Etsy shop. Still trying to get a good stock of things to launch it properly, proving difficult as I've been so busy! I'll get there in the end though!

Well the sun is shining, it's a nice feeling to finish work after such a busy week! Off to the Hobbycraft show at the NEC with my friend Gemma tomorrow, looking forward to it, it's been ages since I last went along to one of these shows!

Have a great weekend.

Wonderful Mum's

Thank you for your lovely comments about my latest bouquet, they made me SMILE! I thought I would share a pic of the card I made my wonderful mum for Mother's day. I made the flower using peony dies and vintage sewing patterns and book pages, I love the fluffiness of it! I think you will be seeing more of these :)

Supplies: Stamps - Papertrey Ink, Dies - Spellbinders and Papertrey Ink, felt, buttons and twine - Papertrey Ink, ribbon, gem and doily from my stash.

I hope all you mum's out there had a lovely day and were spoilt rotten! I had a lovely day with my mum, dad and sister. I love my mum so much, she really is amazing, a best friend, advisor, supporter, nurse, rock and cheerleader for my sister and I. She does so much for us. We really are so blessed. Thanks for all you do for us Mum! I really don't know how I would have got things done last year in the run up to our wedding without her. Also thanks to Adrian's mum for being such a lovely Mum and Mother in Law, we are seeing her later in the week as Adrian had to work all weekend, which is rare but typical that it fell on Mother's day weekend.

Hope your week is off to a great start.

Love,

One of my bouquets at the National Wedding Show!!!

I don't know where this week has gone! Either the earth is orbiting faster or I'm just getting busier or older?!! I can't believe that we are this far into March either! Anyway, I made this brooch bouquet for the lovely ladies at Sposa to take to the National Wedding Show at the NEC this weekend! I was very excited and pleased when Faye kindly said they would take one to display on their stand!! I have been super busy but knew it was an opportunity not to be missed as they have so many brides to be through the doors there. If you are there this weekend I highly recommend seeing the stunningly beautiful dresses on their stand, which is stand D1, you can also see this sparkly little number too ;)

Here is the bouquet, slightly smaller than my previous ones but has a few more brooches in there. I really love seeing these come together, although I did take this one apart half way through and start again, to then think what did I do that for!!! It turned out alright in the end though.

I have a few ideas for different variations on these and can not wait to have a play! Collecting lots of bits and pieces for them!

Lots of crafting to get done this weekend! Have a good one folks!

Vintage Chic Wedding Fair - video

I'm pooped after a lovely but busy weekend in Liverpool as part of my Mother in Law's 60th Birthday celebrations. Then two busy days at work. So just a quick share today. Here is a fab video of the Vintage Chic Wedding Fair by HardLuck Hotel Films. I was delighted to see my stand and pretty Vintage pink typewriter on there, who has now been called Tilly following this appearance, on the cover no less! He he.

Right I'm off to work on my next bouquet creation, which if I manage to get it done in time will be taken to the NEC National Wedding Show this weekend by the lovey ladies at Sposa!! How fab is that! They have 18,000 people through the doors there! Exciting stuff. My Whimsical Wishes to do list is looooong at the moment! Yes I have categorised to do lists and they are all long!! lol.

Hope your week is off to a good start, thanks for popping by.

Vintage Chic Wedding Fair - Part 2

I'm back with the second part of my posting about the Vintage Chic Wedding Fair from last October. It's just my amateur pics this time around though! Some of my stand and I also thought I'd share some of the other exhibitors amazing stands, so many talented people were there! I would like to say a huge thank you to my wonderful mum and friend Gemma for helping me with my stand on the day, you are both stars! The twine wreath you see in the pictures of my stand was made by Gemma, it's gorgeous! Please visit and like her new Facebook page - Avenue Crafts.

Here are some pictures of my friend Cheryl's stand from Vintage Glamour Days, so beautiful, lots of pretty to feast your eyes on. Totally gorgeous and dreamy, I loved it!

Then there was the super talented Tracy of Cotton and Crumbs with her stunning cakes, so so pretty, beautiful works of art! It should be a crime to eat these!

Then there was the lovely Karen and Gemma of Passion for Flowers and The Wedding of my Dreams, beautiful flowers and wedding decorations. Gorgeous stands, loving all the crates, mine was from their webshop too!

I was pleased to meet a new exhibitor too, Hannah of My Craftea Day, I love the name! Hannah offers luxury workshops as an alternative hen party. What great fun that would be! Such a pretty stand too!

I think you can see why we choose Cheryl, Tracy, Karen and Gemma to supply things for our wedding, such talented people offering beautiful products and services, we would highly recommend them. I loved doing the fair and can't wait until the next one in April, I'm busy planning my stand, aiming to do something a bit different this time!! I'm also working on lots of new samples and ideas too. I'll obviously do another post after the next one too!

It's been a super busy week, really excited by some of the opportunities coming my way and can't wait to share more about them soon.

Hope you are having a great week so far!

The Vintage Chic Wedding Fair

Last October I had the pleasure of exhibiting at the Vintage Chic Wedding Fair at the Old Library at the Custard factory in Birmingham. It was a fabulous fair, I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to lots of brides and a few grooms to be! I also enjoyed chatting to the fellow exhibitors, some of who had been our chosen suppliers for our own wedding and some I am now lucky enough to class as friends. I had an amazing day when I attended the fair with my mum in January of last year whilst planning our wedding, it really was a lovely inspiring day, we didn't want to come home, we had lashings of tea and cake, and it helped tie together the last few pieces we needed to make our day extra special. It was what pushed me into finally pursuing a dream I had had for a while of having my own crafty business, I remember thinking oh I'd love to exhibit and be involved with something like this! Cathy and Susie did an amazing job of organising the fair, so a big thank you ladies! I also met the lovely Theresa Furey, a very talented wedding photographer, who was shooting pictures of the event and who has kindly let me have the images she took of my stand to share with you on here. They are fantastic images, so a big thank you to Theresa!

I will be exhibiting at the next Vintage Chic Fair on 22nd April, this time at the Centennial Centre, If you are currently planning your wedding I would highly recommend coming along, it won't disappoint, so many wonderful suppliers, all offering something unique and pretty for your special day, tickets are a bargain at £5 each. There is also live music too to add to the elegant vintage atmosphere, definitely a treat! Visit the website for more information or to purchase tickets. If you do go, I'll see you there, make sure you come and say hi!

I will share another post over the coming days of the photographs I took at the fair, including some of the other lovely exhibitors and their gorgeous stands.

Thank you for stopping by.
