My first stand at a wedding fair!

It's been a busy few weeks again, working and wedding plans etc. Also doing some bits and pieces for my Whimsical Wishes Wedding stationery. I set myself a challenge this past week I booked a stand at a local wedding fair to exhibit my wedding stationery!!

I only had just over a week to plan and prepare, so no pressure then
! Then Adrian was in a car accident, someone went into the back of him on the M1, thankfully he is OK, although has a bad case of whiplash! Those of you that have followed my blog for a while will know we were in an accident just over a year ago and had bad whiplash then too. His car is a write off, so he is dealing with that now. I also got a bout of sinusitis which I could have done without, but never mind!

Anyway I managed to get some samples together and plan my
stand, it turned out quite well, I had lots of interest and compliments on my stand and stationery. I had more ideas and things I wanted to do but ran out of time, however I really enjoyed it and now have something to build upon! It was nice chatting to so many lovely brides to be.

Here are some picture of my stand, the first two are courtesy
of Richard Plastow of that's life photography, thank you for sending these over to me Rich, much appreciated.

The next photo's I took with my humble camera!

You can see my lovely friend Gemma in the above photo's, she gave up her day to help me and keep me company, thanks for your support Gem, it is much appreciated!

I will be posting individual photo's of the new samples I've done on here and my Facebook page over the next few days and also adding pages on here with information regarding enquiring about or ordering wedding stationery from me, so please check back if you are interested!

Thank you for visiting!

Vintage favour boxes and demask wedding invitations

I'm still working on lots of samples for Whimsical Wishes wedding stationery and favours! These are now at their new home in the display cabinet at Bea's Bridal! I'll keep a set for myself too. I'm been having so many ideas for designs, I brought a sketch book so that I can get my ideas down when I have them, and even though my drawing leaves alot to be desired I can at least look at them and know what they are supposed to be! It's just finding the time to actually make them now!!

We have had some
time off from work this week and have had a fab time. We've been browsing antiques, I love anything old, vintage or shabby chic so I'm trying to incorporate this into our big day! We are amongst other things, collecting vintage tea sets to use! I'm loving looking for them and finding so many lovely treasures!! You can see a few of my vintage finds in the pictures below!

We also met our lovely photographers this week, they are great, a husband and wife team, who are so bubbly and friendly, their enthusiasm really shines though and their work is amazing, we spent several hours chatting to them and looking through
their work on Thursday and even ended up in the pub, so safe to say we already feel at ease and well acquainted with them, thanks Jordan and Ines for a great afternoon! We are so excited about our photos now, just what we were looking for, really looking forward to our pre-wedding shoot too, should be fun! If you are getting married and haven't got a photographer yet, then we would suggest you check out Source Images.

Here are my latest creations,

I'm going to try to get some goodies in my Etsy shop within the next few weeks, I'll link it on here when it's up and running properly!

Oh well back to work tomorrow! Had such a great week off catching up with family and friends, sorting wedding plans, browsing antiques, crafting and eating out, could seriously get used to it!!

Thanks for popping by!

Where have I been?!!?!

Well hello lovelies! It's been quite a while I know, I've missed this little blog of mine and all of you too. The reason for the neglect, well, several really. Firstly in full on wedding planning mode now and loving it!! Have also discovered wedding blogs, this is good, but bad at the same time as I have spent too many hours perusing these numerous pages of wedding prettiness!! Very inspiring but you have been warned, it will pass several hours without you realising!!

Secondly well just
working full time and trying to be social and have a life, but thirdly an opportunity has presented itself which I could not ignore or let pass me by. I was looking for bridesmaid dresses and found a company I loved the designs of, searched for stockists and found a lovely bridal shop that stocked them - Bea's Bridal in Southam, Warwickshire! The shop is owned by the lovely Hannah, her assistant manager Ria is also very friendly and helpful, a must visit if you are getting married as they offer gorgeous dresses, cakes, vintage china hire, the list goes on, take a look at the site or visit the shop, it is very pretty, a real treat! Well I got chatting, those that no me know I'm good at this!! Got on to the subject of me being crafty and making invitations etc, next thing Hannah asks if I would like to put some samples in the shop!!! Beyond excited!!! They are starting a wedding planning side of the business and are looking to offer everything for the bride to be. Hannah took a look at my blog and then emailed me about it and now I'm making samples! I also went to a vintage weding fair in Birmingham and seeing all the talented ladies with their lovely goodies on display has spurred me on and I've now got business cards, a Whimsical Wishes Facebook page and an Etsy shop!! Not forgetting my little old blog here. So lots of wedding yumminess coming to my sites/pages very soon.

I've been wanting to ge
t a little crafty business going for some time and have done bits and pieces but something about planning our wedding has brought about more inspiration and motivation, so I'm going to throw myself into it once and for all. I plan to offer bespoke greetings cards, keepsakes, wedding stationery, favours and decor, in vintage, elegant and contemporary designs. Please visit my facebook page if you have time too.

So for now I'll leave you with a few of the wedding samples I have done so far, many, many more to come!! Don't worry though I will still be doing general cards and proje
cts too. Phot's taken in Bea's Bridal.

Thank you for stopping by, let me know you did so I can visit you in return.

Love,
