Yay for good news!!

I know I said this time last week I had some good news to share, well I thought I better pop on here and do just that. Well I am just so proud of Adrian, he has just had a big promotion at work, he works for Barclay's doing IT and he is now a manager and has his own team!! He has done so well since moving there 2 years ago and going into IT 4 and a half years ago. He surprised me with the news whilst we were in Florida and I was so excited and happy! So I just wanted to give him a big shout out on here because he really is working so hard and is going from strength to strength, well done Adrian!! I knew you could achieve what ever you set out to achieve! I really am a lucky girl to have such a wonderful husband to be! We are also currently looking at wedding venues and saving for our big day, so watch this space we hope to have a date set in the not too distant future! So other than being crazy busy, life is good at the moment.

I whipped up a quick card for Adrian, but realised that my supply was lacking in the generic section, ie. congrats, well done sort of cards, so I think a few *wink* stamp sets are needed in that area! Thankfully I had a Creating Keepsakes car
d kit from eons ago which did have a card I could use in there,so this is from that kit, just I've added a few little extras.

We also went for a lovely meal (or two!) to celebrate, which was lovely, always nice when you have got something to celebrate and don't have to cook! he he. I'll be back soon, until then, take care.

Happy birthday dad!

It was my dad's birthday yesterday and my sister's boyfriend, Carl's on Friday, so we went for a lovely family meal this weekend. We all had a great time, here is to many, many happy returns for you both!

Here is the card I made
for my dad, golf themed as he loves to play, also in dark colours as my dad is always wearing black, it's his favourite colour! I really struggle with men's cards and realise that my craft stash is in need of some items for male projects!! What can I say but I'm a girly girl, sorry guys!

Stamp from stash - Unknown (sorry)/Card - SU/DP - Pink paislee Queen Bee/Letters are from the Tim Holtz vintage market die ( Loving this!)/Photo corners - EK Success punch/Other - white gel pen.

Hope you have had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine! Ours has flown by. I'll be back soon with a Stampeezee DT card and to share some good news that we have had lately!

Florida snaps!!

I have had a go at doing a little slideshow of a few of our holiday snaps, we took over 300, but I won't bore you with those! ha ha! I was trying to be good as well as I have a tendancy to get snap happy, on our last trip there I took over 500, so I have improved!! My little sis took her camera as well so it will be fun to see her snaps too. Now I've saved them all to my computer and done this slideshow I need to get some printed and get scrapbooking. I also like to put a few in frames around my home, I love being surrounded by photos of loved ones and happy times!

Thanks for stopping by,

New Stash!!!

As promised a pic of the new stash I got in Florida! I don't want to use it, it's too pretty! I'm going to force myself to use it through, don't want to hoard supplies for the sake of it, I'm terrible at doing that. The whole idea of buying it is to create something nice with it, so that I will try to do. Not pictured is the 7 gypsies printers tray (I can't wait to do something with that, but knowing me it will still be sitting there in months to come!) that I got and some Kraft gift bags to decorate. I also got PTI cardstock which I didn't photograph with the PTI stuff! Doh. I think half the reason us girls are love crafting is the shopping for supplies, it's so much fun!! And I certainly did have fun picking out this little lot! Believe me there were hundreds of other bits I would have liked to have brought back but time and purse strings wouldn't allow, that and the baggage allowance!!

I know what you really want to see is some projects using it all, I'll work on that in the coming weeks!! I've had to find a home for this lot first, not easy when you live in a small cottage! I've also been sorting through my photographs and trying to get some system together to organise them and get some printed, this includes my holiday snaps. I'm hoping to do some scrapbooking soon too, as I'm way behind on that! I will attempt to put a little slideshow on here of my holiday pictures, I'm not great at technical things though so we'll see!! ha ha.

Never Trust a man to do a womans job!!

Thought I'd better swing by here!! I really don't know where the days are going (not to mention the weeks and months!!). I seem to have been so busy since returning from our holiday, catching up with housework and laundry, seeing family and not to mention work, the weather has been lovely (just wish I didn't suffer with hayfever!), we shouldn't have to go to work when it's this nice outside!! I think the fact I've got some work to complete for a course makes even defrosting the freezer seem more appealing, so maybe some of the busyness is diversion tactics!! He he, I must start work properly on my assignment and presentation next week, I don't want to be rushing it at the last minute!!

Whilst in Florida I was in the Scrappy Boutique doing a scrapbook store dash as there was half hour until closing and it was our last full day there! So I sent Adrian over to Target to look at the photo frames so we could buy his mum a present, I said I'd meet him there. They had lovely ones with quotes on and all sorts of decorative ones. Sue loves Florida too and was a big fan of Target whilst there a few years ago, so i thought it would be an appropriate present. Well Adrian returns with a photo frame ..... but it's a completely plain one!!! I knew he should have waited for me!! It is a nice frame but didn't really seem any different from the ones you can get here at home, so being a crafter I added a little something from my new supplies. Thought I'd share a quick picture.

Here is the before:

Here is the after photo:

Supplies: Lace ribbon and fabric flower - Prima/Butterfly charms - Maya Road/Buttons and thread - PTI.

Quite simple really but Sue liked it so that's the main thing. The photo is of me and Adrian on a night out at the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal's City Walk, they take the photo when you walk in and we decided to have it, it was a set of three, so Adrian wanted gave his mum and dad one. I brought my mum some lovely tarts etc from the Yankee candle shop (oh, I adore Yankee candle!!) and a Tinkerbell ornament.

I'll share a pic of the other new stash I acquired in Florida over the weekend and hopefully a card or project too, the only bit of crafting I have managed was at our first Paper Scissors Craft meeting in Brinklow, was a small group but it was lovely to craft together in the newly refurbished hall. I think I did more chatting than crafting though!!

I'm off to an all day workshop at Stampeezee tomorrow, really looking forward to it as haven't been toa workshop in ages and the lovely Annika is doing Scrapbooking with us and teaching us how to use the melt pot etc, so should be fun!!

Have a great weekend.

Hugs,
