200 Followers - woo hoo!!!!!!

WOW, I can't believe that I now have 200 lovely followers, I really appreciate each and every one of you stopping by here and thinking that I'm worthy of following. You are the reason that even when I'm busy or feeling under the weather I still try to blog (I'm not feeling 100% at the moment either, horrible water infection....again!!). So thank you for your interest and support, you are the best. I'll throw on some blog candy to celebrate shortly!

Anyway, here is a card I made for my friend Debbie, it was her birthday yesterday. I have used a Crafty secrets heartwarming vintage image here, I have had these for ages (hoarding again!) and had palpitations when cutting into them as they are so pretty, almost too pretty to use! lol.

I also finally got my sewing machine out of the box and used it for the first time! I've got a long way to go with the old sewing, but I do like it!

Supplies: image Crafty secrets/DP - Graphic 45 (from Stampeezee)/vintage seam binding, lace, flowers, pearls and pins from stash/other - mica flakes, shimmerz mist in baby's breath/tools - distress tool.

Hope your week is going well.

Wishing you well

Where are the weeks going, they are whizzing by! We have been visiting Adrian's nan this weekend as she has had a nasty fall and broken her shoulder. She is in a lot of pain and is very bruised and shaken up, bless her. She is nearly 85 and is very independent and doesn't like a fuss but we are all trying to help out and make sure she is looked after, as much as she will allow anyway! She hadn't been feeling well since the start of the year, so this is not what she needed really, it's knocked her confidence.

I made this card for her and we took flowers and cakes round! Then sat and put the world to rights! lol.

Supplies: image - Motivet/Sentiment - PTI/Ribbon and flowers from stash/Tools - nesties, fiskars apron lace punch.

I was tempted to use patterned paper but pleased I didn't as I quite like the freshness of the white and blue together. Also they are the nurses colours where I work so maybe it's because the image is of a nurse!

We have had snow again where we are, is spring ever coming?!

Enjoy your Sunday. Here's wishing you are well.

Feelin' tired!

Hello blogging friends, sorry I haven't much to share with you, I've not been very creative the last few days as I'm feeling tired. I've been quite busy lately and seem to be going to bed later and later and for some reason seem to wake ages before the alarm (and having bizarre dreams), which is so annoying! Work is busy and I can't seem to get on top of that to do list! Housework seems to be piling up too! One good thing though is that my presentation is now out the way and it went well! I now have an online self directed course to do! The joys of career progression eh?! I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end when I feel confident in my new role as Colorectal Nurse. I've got a few cards and projects that I'm working on but can't share them yet as they are for upcoming birthdays etc and don't want the recipients to see them here first, so will wait to post them just in case they stop by.

Just thought I'd share a better pic of those gorgeous roses Adrian got me, they are beautiful and go lovely in my living room! I can't wait for lighter evenings and better weather though now, don't know about you?! The natural light also helps with taking better pics especially if you are photographically challenged like me! lol.

Hope you are having a good week so far!

Blog candy winner

The winner of my recent blog candy is Esme, The Crafty Vet. Please email me your snail mail address and I'll post it out to you asap. If you haven't visited Esme's blog, then you should check out her lovely cards and the story of how she came to own her dog Foxy, he is too cute!!

Here is a quick card I made for a friend I used to work with, she has recently had a baby boy. Had to be quick as need to get it done and in the post whilst I think about it, otherwise it will be weeks before I get round to it again! I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with it though and may make another!

Supplies: Stamps - Unity/ DP - DCWV/ Ribbon - docrafts and SU/ buttons and thread - PTI/pin from stash.

Sorry for super quick post, I've got to tweak that presentation ready for tomorrow and I'm shattered, busy day at work and didn't get to bed until late last night! Hopefully I'll post again tomorrow.

Love is in the air

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you are all feeling loved today.

Now Adrian and myself are not ones to go over the top on Valentines, not because we don't like a bit of romance but because we like to treat each other spontaneously and don't feel we need to do it on a set day. That being said we usually do get each other a card or little token. This year Adrian said lets not bother, which was fine by me, but then a knock came at the door this morning and he had ordered 12 long stem red roses to be delivered! They are beautiful and were completely unexpected! He is a little monkey but I do love him so much! Apologies for the poor quality photo, I'll take another tomorrow when it's light, they are now displayed in a flower jug too.

So then I was in a panic as I had got nothing for him! So a trip to tesco later and I made him his favourite steak dinner, not bad for my first time cooking steak if I do say so myself! Then I had a go at making the coconut and cherry bake for dessert that was week 5 recipe challenge over on Debbie's fantastic blog, country heart and home. It turned out nice, so thanks again to Debbie for another fab recipe.

Now I better finish a presentation I need to do for a course on Tuesday, it's giving me a headache, to say the least! I'm more of a hands on girl than an academic! Think all the cooking and baking were diversion tactics, I used to be the same at Uni, I'd always find something else that needed doing or that just couldn't wait when I had assignments to write! Maybe the freezer now needs defrosting.............ROFL!

I've had a lovely weekend, on Friday Adrian treated us to a meal at TGI's (love the food there!) as he had some good news regarding his job that he wanted to fill me in on, I'm so very proud of him for doing so well in his chosen career in such a short space of time. Then I had quite a lazy Saturday morning, followed by housework!

Hope you have had a great weekend. Don't they just go so quickly! I'll announce my blog candy winner tomorrow evening so check back then.

Big Hugs,

Snails pace!

I was in two minds whether to continue to get the Unity Kit of the month each month, not because I no longer like them, because I do they are gorgeous, but because I have a huge back log of 18 months worth of kits hardly touched. But when they keep producing images as adorable as this I have just gotta have 'em! I have resolved to use them though, especially as they arrive. I'll also be making lots of cards with the past kits, they are so fresh and fun, the images are too cute and they make quick effective cards and projects.

Here is a card using one of the January KOTM stamps. Appropriate because it takes me ages to get around to anything these days! lol. I adore this toadstool stamp!

Supplies: Image and sentiment - Unity Jan KOTM/Medium - promarkers/DP - Cosmo Cricket Earth Love/Cardstock, linen thread and ribbon - SU/Buttons - woodware/Tools - nesties, Fistars apron lace punch, SU word window punch, corner rounder/ Other - string from stash.

I think the Cosmo cricket papers go perfectly. Hope you like it, thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, I love to read them.

Don't forget that you have until midnight tomorrow to enter my candy below!

Blog candy!

As I did not get around to announcing a follower of the month in December due to being so busy I thought I'd offer some candy now to make up for it. If you are a follower you will get two chances to win, so that is your perk there! I can not believe that I have 195 followers, thank you so much for taking the time to visit me in my little space on the www. I really appreciate your support and comments.

Anyone can enter, just leave a comment, liking on your blog would be appreciated but is not essential to win. Ends Sunday 14th February. I'll announce the winner soon after.

Up for grabs is:
Papermania Clare Curd signiture stamp set
An selection of Papermania papers
Some Prima fabric, paper and tissue flowers
Small selection of ribbon

My Follower of the Month for Janurary is Linda, I'm sending her a Whipper Snapper stamp and some papers. Poor Linda asked me for some stamped images of this stamp ages and ages ago and I never got around to doing them, then we were going to meet up in Nov at Steph's make and take but Linda couldn't make it. So I'll give Linda the stamp she liked. So to make up for her patience and to thank her for being one of my loyal followers from the beginning I'll send her some goodies. Sounds like she is having a tough time recently too, so hopefully this will cheer her up.

You may have noticed that I have changed it to follower of the month from follower of the fortnight. I've done this as I can offer a better prize to one person as opposed to little bits and pieces to a few, also time and money constraints I'm afraid! I feel this is more managable, so all you have to do is be a follower and leave comments from time to time to be in with a chance to win. I'll announce to next Follower of the month at the end of Feb.

Thank you for taking the time to visit. Good Luck with the candy!

Get well wishes!

Apologies for lack of blogging this week, we went to York for the weekend with Adrian's family, it was a lovely break, York is such a nice city with some fantastic shops. I treated myself to a few new items for my wardrobe as this has been seriously neglected in favour of spending money on craft items! I used to spend it all on clothes, shoes and bags until I found this hobby but now I've got tons of crafts stuff and no clothes! So thought it was time this changed and I enjoyed some proper girly shopping!

A dear friend of mine had an operation this week and I made this clean and simple card to send and cheer her up and let her know I'm thinking of her. I love this vintage picnic set from Papertrey ink, it's very versatile and can be used for all occasions. I can see this being used again and again!

Supplies: Stamps - PTI/ cardstock - SU /ribbon - American crafts/ button and twine - PTI/ gems from stash/ tools - corner rounder

Hope you have had a good week so far. I'm hoping to post over the weekend, including the blog candy I mentioned.

Thanks for visiting and any comments you may leave.
