Christmas Wishes

Merry Christmas everyone! Wishing you love, joy, happiness and all the blessings of the festive season. I hope everyone is having a lovely time with their family and friends. I'm having a lovely quite, cozy Christmas day with my hubs to be in our little cottage. I was working yesterday but after work visted Adrian's family, then my family came round when I came back, we went to the pub in the village and had lots of laughs. Love it, family and friends, the greatest gift of all, I feel very blessed!

I'm sorry that I h
ave not updated in so long, but can honestly say that I have only just stopped!! lol. It's been a crazy 4/5 weeks. We decided to decorate the kitchen at the end of November after my last post, we didn't think it would take long ...... wrong! Took a few weeks, but the hard work has paid off because it looks much better. It's where I do my crafting too, so I had no where to craft as our cottage is only small. This then put me behind with Christmas crafting, shopping and decorating etc. My mum was also 50 on 8th December so I had her birthday presents, card etc to get, we also went away as a family for a few days to celebrate, which was lovely, we all had a great time. We wanted to make it special for her and think we did.

So here we are, I must admit I'm really enjoying it but feeling very tired! The few days off are much needed and I'm hoping my batteries will be fully recharged! I've got some Christmas creations to share, hopefully will do so over the next few days, better late than never!

Thank you to all my family and friends for their lovely cards and presents, I've been spoilt again! I love spoiling people too at this time of year, so much fun! I've got some new Papertrey ink goodies to play with oh, we never grow up do we ... new toys!!

Well just about to settle down with a glass of bubbly and watch It's a Wonderful life (my favourite film of all time) in front of a roaring fire, with the tree twinkling, candles flickering and my gorgeous h2b, bliss, what more could I ask for!

Hope your Christmas is a wonderful one.

Love,

First Christmas cards of 2010

I'm frantically trying to catch up with my to do list and my Christmas planning, feel way behind!! I made these Christmas cards a few weeks ago now when I went to my friend Gemma's for a craft day. Gemma had made us all a little gift, we had water bottles with our names on for our place settings and a lovely buffet with sandwiches, cakes etc. It was a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon and with such lovely ladies there for company I think I did more talking than crafting!! I didn't take any photo's unfortunately, I must remember to always take my camera! Thank you Gemma for arranging it and spoiling us, you're the best!!

Supplies: Stamp - Imaginations/DP - Websters pages/Buttons and twine - Papertrey Ink/Rick rack from stash/Other - Beaded oval nesties, Tim Holtz distress inks and tool, distress tool.

Supplies: Stamp - Whipper snapper designs, sentiment - Papertrey Ink/DP - Imaginesce/Butons - Papertrey Ink/Baker's twine - Stampeezee/Other - ribbon, oval and scallop oval punches - Stampin up, Tim Holtz distress inks and tool, distress tool.

I absolutely love Christmas and the build up to it, I love getting out my cherished Christmas decorations that I've collected over the years, they bring back such sweet memories. I also enjoy getting my Christmas crafting items out and using these to create handmade cards and gifts for loved ones.

I haven't had the best of weeks this week, had some news regarding my nan, she has been under investigation for mouth cancer and had her biospy results on Thursday, the good news is that it isn't a cancer that can spread to other parts of her body but the bad news is that it is a rare tumour of the jaw which had eated away at the jaw and she has got to undergo a major 10hr operation to remove it and reconstruct her jaw with bone and arteries from her leg. It is a risky operation but the risks of not having it are bad too as it will continue to grow and cause damage. The recovery involves a stay in ICU, breathing tubes, liquidised food, speech and language therapy, a long haul bacically. Not a nice prospect at any age but she is 77 and has had heart trouble in the past, we are very worried about her. So please say a little prayer that she comes through this OK. She is having more tests etc and will be having this surgery after Christmas. So we will try to make Christmas special for her to hopefully take her mind off what the new year is to bring.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please let me know that you did so I can visit you in return.

A snowflake is winter's butterfly

I'm back again! It's been such a hectic few weeks, I'm really feeling it now, but I've had a great time. First it was celebrating my sister's and Adrian's birthdays. Then I've had one of my best friends, Daniela's wedding, I was chief bridesmaid and it was such an honour.

Congratulations Daniela and James on becoming Mr and Mrs Taylor. Thanks for letting us share your special day, we had a fantastic time. Love you both lots.

So there was all that a wedding entails, I had hair
dressers appointments, spray tan appointment, bridal shower, we all met at the hotel the evening before and had a lovely meal. Then me and Daniela had a nice girly time getting ready the night before and on the morning of her wedding. Then the really fun part, the wedding itself.

I thought I'd share the invitations that I designed and we made for the wedding, Daniela loves winter and wanted snowflakes but also liked butterflies, thankfully we were able to tie these together with the beautiful sentiment a snow
flake is winter's butterfly. We made these a while ago now but I never got around to sharing them before. The photo unfortunately doesn't show up the shimmery cardstock etc. The colours were blue and silver.

Then here is the wedding card I made for the happy couple, again bringing in the colours of the wedding and the butterflies.

I also made a keepsake box for Daniela's lovely mum Yvette to give to Daniela at her bridal shower but I don't think I took a picture of it, doh!!

Anyway just a quick post to let you know what I've been up to and to share a few things I'd made, I've now got to get cracking with some Christmas cards etc, feel so behind with everything, so much to do so little time, Christmas is approaching fast!!!! I've got a few cards made which I'll post over the next few days.

Until then,

Bonfire Birthday's

Today is Adrian's and my sisters birthdays, they were both Guy Fawkes night babies!! So sending big birthday wishes their way. Hope you both have a great day and yes all the fireworks are just for you!! I love you both dearly.

Here are the cards I made for them.

I'm off to my friend Gemma's tomorrow for a craft day, so should have something to share with you over the weekend too. We did order lots of the new release from Papertrey Ink to make Christmas projects with, poor Gemma even got up at 5am on release day because of the time difference to make sure we ordered before they ran out of stock, as if they did it may be too late to order things to make cards etc before Christmas with us being in the UK, but alas that was over three weeks ago and still no parcel, no tracking number and now PTI email system crashed and no other way to contact them!!! The money has been taken and confirmation of order received, so we are worried as to the where abouts of it! Fingers crossed it arrives soon.

I'm off to celebrate Adrian's birthday with him, we both have the day off together, not much cooking today, yipee, we will be going for a lovely meal. My sis is in London seeing Blood Brother's with her boyfriend Carl, so I'll see her to celebrate tomorrow night/Sunday. Also my friend Daniela is having a bridal shower Sunday, as she gets married next week and I'm Bridesmaid. So a busy fun packed weekend!!!

Hope you have a safe and happy Bonfire night.

Save the Date!

Here are my save the date cards that I have been working on, had to do quite a few, over 40 anyway, I'm pleased with how they turned out and have started handing them out as I see the guests we will be inviting, got to post a few out too. I love all things old, vintage, distressed and shabby chic, so I'm trying to incorporate this into our big day.

Stamps - American crafts/Vintage seam binding and glass glitter stars from etsy/cardstock and notebook page die - Papertey Ink/Gem pins - Making Memories vintage findings range/Other - Tim Holtz distress inks, gems from stash.

I really can't wait untill 9th September next year, I will be marrying my gorgeous guy!! Time is passing so quickly I'm going to savour the planning and the build up as much as possible too! It is very exciting and so much fun! It's right up my street, I could do it for a living!! I'll try not to become a wedding bore on here though, but can't promise! I'll share a pic or two of my wedding planner journal once I've completed it too.

Hope you are having a fab weekend!

Birthday celebrations!

I have had a lovely week off, It's flown by though!! Probably because it's gotten a bit busy around here again! I had a really nice birthday though, it was great to get away for a few days, it was relaxing and the Cotswolds are beautiful. We stayed in Stow-on-the-Wold which is a lovely little town, some nice little shops, cozy pubs and gorgeous countryside. I was drooling over many of the stunningly pretty cottages around the Cotswolds. We stayed in a great hotel too, called The Royalist, one of the oldest inns in England, I'd recommend it if you were planning a break away in that neck of the woods, it was a great base too, we only seemed to be 10 miles from anywhere, so the travelling didn't take long. Here are a few pics.

Thank you to my better half, Adrian for such a lovely break, it was refreshing!! I was spoilt on my birthday, I really was. Thanks to my family and friends, you are the best!! Here are my goodies, lots of Papertrey goodies from Adrian, othe
r crafting goodies include new nesties, magnolia dies, Basic grey and October afternoon papers and some Greeting farm stamps, doesn't get much better than that for a paper crafter does it!! ha ha. I had some lovely decorative items for our little cottage too, will enjoy finding a home for these! I also had a fab cupcake stand, I will have fun using that!! I had some pretty jewellery and a cozy jumper too. I also had some money, gift vouchers and lovely flowers. I'll get some nice snuggly autumn/winter clothes with my vouchers and what money I have left, as it's definitely gotten chilly the last few days.

I also was very touched at the gorgeous gifts that my friend Gemma and her lovely mum, Jan sent me, I was really spoilt here, look at the amazing items Jan made me, she is a fantastic sewer/quilter and I now have this really pretty matching set, including a sewing bag, pin cushion, needle case and scissor holder, how cute are these?!! All in my favourite Tilda fabric too. A big thank you to Gemma and Jan for their thoughtfulness and effort, I love them!! I just need to get sewing now!

I was also lucky enou
gh to have some gorgeous handmade cards, nothing nicer!! thank you to Debbie, Grace, Gemma and Annika for these! When I first started crafting I didn't really know many who shared my hobby, it's so great that I have made such fab crafty friends!

I have got a few cards etc that I've made to share and will do over the next few days. I didn't do as much crafting as I intended to but spent some time with family and caught up with friends, which after all is the most important thing you can do! I was at one of my best friends hen parties yesterday, which I helped plan, we had a fun day and I really enjoyed my massage too!

I'll be back soon, don't forget to enter my Papertrey Ink blog candy!

Big hugs,

xxxxxxx

The date is set!!!

What a few weeks/months it has been, so many ups and downs and it's been very busy! I'm really happy to say that one of our biggest goals this year has now been met though!!! We have set a date for our wedding!!! We will be tying the knot on 9th September 2011!!! I can not wait! I love Adrian so much and it will be fantastic to finally be Mr and Mrs! We have been together nearly nine years now and engaged for three, so it will be lots of fun planning our big day at last. We are hoping the ceremony will be at the church here in Brinklow (awaiting confirmation as there is a new vicar starting in September, but I've been told there shouldn't be a problem) and we have booked and paid our deposit on a beautiful venue, near Leamington Spa, called Wethele Manor. Wethele is just the sort of place we were looking for, somewhere with character and rustic charm, simple and elegant without being pretentious, somewhere where our guests would feel at home and Wethele ticks all those boxes. It is a family run place and they are very friendly and accommodating, which allows us to have what we want, we have exclusive use of the manor farmhouse, the barns and marquee. I have so many ideas for decorating etc it's untrue!! I can't wait to really get stuck into the planning and organising. It's a year away but if the last year is anything to go by it will be here before we know it!! So I better get cracking.

I'm in the process of designing and making save the date cards and I'll share those as soon as they are sent out. I'm decorating a chipboard album that will be my wedding planner/idea book, so watch this space for those.

In the mean time I have made a few little thank you notelets with some of my Papertrey Ink supplies, as I really don't have much of a card stash lately. This needs to change as I have been wanting to put some things in my Etsy shop for a while now, but with the wedding to save and pay for I think I need to make this a reality, the extra pennies will definitely come in handy. I'm always getting asked by work colleagues etc ask for cards and it will be great to direct them to my Etsy shop, I will also perhaps start a Folky shop too, so there is more choice where to shop for my goodies. For anyone interested I will link them on here when they are up and running. I know that most of you that visit make your own but just thought I'd mention it for those that don't. I may have try to do some mini kits, possibly PTI for the crafters out there, so that may be worth a look!

Hello again!

I also had my assignment to get done amongst, visiting my mum at hospital, then at home and going to work etc. I work at the hospital my mum was at so at least I could keep an eye on how she was doing whilst at work etc. We were also trying to sort our wedding venue and date out too. Thankfully my assignment has now been submitted, I just have a presentation to work on now, then I go to Cambridge on Tuesday/Wednesday to complete the course and deliver the presentation. So it will be a sigh of relief once it is all completely out of the way! I just have to hope I pass the course then, which I will not find until September, so fingers crossed. It was one thing after another since I went on the course and was set the work, first the bereavement of my great aunt, then my mum being ill, so it's been a challenge!! It is also my last shift working on the ward tomorrow, those of you that follow my blog might know that I got a specialist nurse role last year but as the hours were not enough I still worked one day a week on the ward to make my pay cheque balance, well thankfully after a long wait I will now be doing my stoma care nurse role full time, which is great as I can concentrate on this now. So I'm hoping that now with the course out the way etc I can get back to some sort of normality, whatever that is! lol. Anyway enough of me waffling on!

I don't have much to show you yet other than a few things I hadn't had chance to post, so here is a card I made for a dear friend's housewarming rec
ently.

Supplies: Images and sentiments - Papertrey Ink, Wonderfully Whimsical and Up, up and away sets/cardstock - Papertrey Ink and SU/Buttons and twine - Papertrey Ink/other - Baker's twine - Stampeezee.

Also my friend Gemma and I indulged our obsession with all things PTI a little more!! This helped to cheer me up the other week, my collection is really growing now, yipee! I don't feel too guilty indulging as I have sold an awful lot of my SU stamps etc on ebay recently, so it made some money and space for more PTI yumminess!! With my birthday coming next month I'm sure I may get to indulge a little more, then the purse strings will have to tighten as we will be saving hard for our big day!

On the subject of our wedding, we have chosen a venue and date, just need to sort a few things then I can shout about it from the rooftops!! lol. Can you tell I'm excited?! I'm sure there will be save the date cards, wedding planner journals and inspiration folder projects galore on here soon!! I've got some wedding invitations I made for a friend to share too, so stay tuned, I'm back and itching to create!!

Yay for good news!!

I know I said this time last week I had some good news to share, well I thought I better pop on here and do just that. Well I am just so proud of Adrian, he has just had a big promotion at work, he works for Barclay's doing IT and he is now a manager and has his own team!! He has done so well since moving there 2 years ago and going into IT 4 and a half years ago. He surprised me with the news whilst we were in Florida and I was so excited and happy! So I just wanted to give him a big shout out on here because he really is working so hard and is going from strength to strength, well done Adrian!! I knew you could achieve what ever you set out to achieve! I really am a lucky girl to have such a wonderful husband to be! We are also currently looking at wedding venues and saving for our big day, so watch this space we hope to have a date set in the not too distant future! So other than being crazy busy, life is good at the moment.

I whipped up a quick card for Adrian, but realised that my supply was lacking in the generic section, ie. congrats, well done sort of cards, so I think a few *wink* stamp sets are needed in that area! Thankfully I had a Creating Keepsakes car
d kit from eons ago which did have a card I could use in there,so this is from that kit, just I've added a few little extras.

We also went for a lovely meal (or two!) to celebrate, which was lovely, always nice when you have got something to celebrate and don't have to cook! he he. I'll be back soon, until then, take care.

Happy birthday dad!

It was my dad's birthday yesterday and my sister's boyfriend, Carl's on Friday, so we went for a lovely family meal this weekend. We all had a great time, here is to many, many happy returns for you both!

Here is the card I made
for my dad, golf themed as he loves to play, also in dark colours as my dad is always wearing black, it's his favourite colour! I really struggle with men's cards and realise that my craft stash is in need of some items for male projects!! What can I say but I'm a girly girl, sorry guys!

Stamp from stash - Unknown (sorry)/Card - SU/DP - Pink paislee Queen Bee/Letters are from the Tim Holtz vintage market die ( Loving this!)/Photo corners - EK Success punch/Other - white gel pen.

Hope you have had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine! Ours has flown by. I'll be back soon with a Stampeezee DT card and to share some good news that we have had lately!
