Blog awards and follower of the week!

Sorry for the lack of posts, it's been a busy week! Lots of changes going on at work, which has left me feeling frazzled! I'll hopefully be back with a creation tomorrow. My great Aunt has also had her surgery to hopefully remove her cancer this week too. I hope they have got to it in time and wish her a speedy recovery!

I have been given two blog awards by two little sweeties. I mentioned Grace and Jonathan a few posts ago, they are both very talented youngsters with their own blogs and amazing talents. Thank you both a million, the awards are greatly appreciated!

This one is from Jonathan:

I'd like to pass this on to Grace, Gemma, Caroline and Steph.

This one is from Grace:

I'd like to pass this onto Clare, Jonathan and Marlene.

My follower of the week this week is Annelie, she has left me some lovely comments, thank you sweetie. I forgot to post a picture of the goodies earlier in the week but this is what you will receive, ( Laura Ashley Contemporary and Love song papers, love song embroidered brads) email me you address and I'll forward the goodies on to you.

I'll give the winners two weeks to contact me to claim their prize if you do not contact me after this time then I'll choose someone else to receive it or add it to my general blog candy. Just a quick card and post today. Exhausted after two 12.5 hour shifts at the weekend, work has been hectic lately, lots of changes, ward moves and staff shortages! My legs are still aching today! I'll also have lots of smelly washing to do as Adrian returns from the V Festival today!!

For this card I have used one of my Unity KOTM stamps, these are much loved but neglected, so I am trying to make sure I start inking them up!! Plus stamps like this are great when I'm pushed for time.

Supplies - Stamp - Unity KOTM Sept '08 (all past KOTM are still available), coloured with promarkers, DP - My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow, brad, dew drops, jute and raffia from stash. Used SU distress tool for edges.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampeezee DT project!

Firstly I just wanted to give a shout out to a lovely young lady who is12 yrs old who has just started her own blog, dancing angel. Her name is Grace and she is my friend Debbie's daughter. She is very talented, and loves dancing, acting and crafting, so please pay her a visit and leave a few words of encouragement as her cards are lovely. I think that it is so refreshing to that there are some young crafters out there starting blogs, it's great. Whilst on the subject my friend Sarah's son Jon has also got his own blog and is also a talented crafter.

Sorry for another Christmas item but think I'm hooked now! lol! Debbie at Stampeezee gave me this gorgeous Imaginisce paper and stamp to play with and I fancied doing something other than a card, so I tried the box in a bag tutorial over on splitcoast stampers and well I just love this little box/bag! It was easy and fun to put together and I can see me doing lots of these for Christmas as they make great gift packaging. This would be great if you were giving jewellery, make up, chocolate/sweets, gift cards, gloves, socks etc! I would fill this one with the little mugs on with hot chocolate sachets, stirrers and mini marshmallows for a sweet treat! How cute!

Supplies - Stamp - Imaginisce, coloured with promarkers, white gel pen for faux stitching, DP - Imaginisce, Cardstock SU, Ribbon S,. Tools - nesties, scallop border punch, SU tab punch, Crop-a-dile big bite. DP and stamp avaliable from Stampeezee

My first follower of the week is Tonya! Tonya has left me some lovely comments lately which are much appreciated! She has a fantastic blog and her work is amazing. If you email me your addy hun, I'll post the Imaginisce goodies to you.

I'll try to post a picture of my next follower of the week goodies soon. I'll announce the next FOTW next Friday. Remember you can still sign up as a follower to be entered into this!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my little blog!

Simon says Christmas in August!

Well every year I say that I'm going to start making my Christmas cards early and don't get round to it, so when I saw this weeks challenge over at Simon says stamp challenge blog, which is Christmas in August, I just had to join in and this means that I have officially started my Christmas cards! Yay!

Click on picture for full size and clearer view.

Supplies - Stamp - Magnolia, post card stamp from SU winter post set, coloured with promarkers, DP - Imaginisce, Cardstock - SU, Ribbon - SU, string, metal embellishment and blig from stash. Also used SU distress tool, inks and chalks to distress the edges. I used liquid applique on Tilda's coat and sprinkled glitter into it before using the heat tool on it.

The yummy imaginisce papers are new at Stampeezee, they have the stamps to match too and they are a snap at only 99p! Have a feeling I'll be using these alot!

Thanks for looking, hope you have a great day. I'll be back to choose a follower of the week tomorrow to receive the goodies shown a few posts ago.

It's my turn as guest designer for the next four weeks over at Papertake weekly challenge blog. It's a special week this week as it's their 100th challenge! Well done to Dawny and the DT for providing us with all these fab challenges and inspiration. I can only imagine the work involved in planning and running a challenge blog! To celebrate some of the DT are giving away candy, some make sure you visit all their blogs.

I could choose any of the past 100 challenges for my card this week! Well those who know me would know not to give me too many choices as I'm hopeless at making a decision! lol! I didn't manage to join in on one of the recent challenges which was four seasons, so I chose this one. As it's approaching autumn and it's my favourite time of year I have chose this season.

Supplies: Stamp - Magnolia, fall Tilda coloured with promarkers, white gel pen, sticles and glitter pen to accent, sentiment - Unity stamp co, cardstock - SU, DP - My mind's eye (wild asparagus), other - raffia lace, ribbon - SU taffeta, buttons from stash, linen thread - SU, flowers - prima.

Something borrowed, something blue!

Thought I'd share this wedding card I made for my friend Tish who recently tied the knot in Vagas! I meet her for lunch on Saturday and it was lovely to catch up and see the wedding photos. Her and John literally are one of the nicest couples you could wish to meet. I was pleased she like the card even though it was late!

I used the Stampin' up pretties kit and ribbon for this card, along with Martha Stewart punch, velum quote has been in my stash for ages, got this when I went to Florida in 2006! So it was about time I used it!

Thanks for looking, your comments are always appreciated.

Follower of the Week!

I have decided that I would like to say thank you to those of you who follow my blog and visit me often. I love to read your comments, they always make me smile and brighten my day. I really appreciate the time people take to visit my little blog. So as a way to say thank you I will choose a follower or followers each week to receive a little something, this could be a stamp, papers, ribbons or embellishments. Nothing huge but just a little treat.

You need do nothing but be a follower of my blog and leave comments from time to time to be in with a chance to win. Of course if you would like to spread the word that I'm doing this then that would be greatly appreciated. It is coming up to my blogoversary and my birthday in September and I will have some bumper candy on offer then! So i'll do this follower candy weekly until then, then if this proves a success with my lovely followers and my stash can stretch (which I'm sure it will do), then I'll continue it.

The first goodies to be given to a follower are these gorgeous Imaginesce papers, stamp and SU ribbon.

With love and gratitude,

Top 5 Passionista!!!

Whoop whoop!! I have been awarded one of the top 5 passionista for last weeks passion for promarkers challenge. Can't tell you how much this made my day yesterday.

Was having a stressful day yesterday, my little sister (she is 22) was taken ill and has ended up in hospital. She is having a scan today. I'm worried about her and hope that she will be OK. We spent the whole day there yesterday, she is a nurse too and took in while on duty and ended up in A & E. So when I got home last night I was pleased to see my little award! Hopefully we will know more once she has had the scan. I'm going to make a get well card, so will share that later. My mum's aunt (who is 65) has also been diagnosed with cancer recently so we are waiting to see if she can have surgery etc. All a worry!

I really liked the colour scheme of my last card so have carried this forward with my latest one, this was going to be for last weeks Simon says stamp challenge (ribbons and buttons) but I never got the chance to post it yesterday with everything going on. I'm using one of my Unity KOTM stamps.

Supplies used: Stamps - Unity June KOTM coloured with Promarkers, I used glitter gel pen and glossy accents to highlight, DP - Basic Grey Lemonade (yummy!), Card - SU, Ribbon - East of India, buttons, little pegs and Raffia lace from stash. Also used SU distressing tool, ink, chalks to add texture to the edges.

If you like the Unity stamps like a few of you mentioned on my fell the joy post then just to let you know that Stampeezee is the only UK stockist. They don't have the KOTM but a wide range of other Unity stamps.

Sorry for the long post, thank you for stopping by and any comments as they always brighten my day!

Passion for promarkers!

Been meaning to post this card all weekend but the weather has been so nice that we have been out and about and spending time with family. This card is for the Passion for Promarkers challenge where there is a lovely sketch to follow and you can use your choice of colour markers. I'm still practising with these, hopefully I'll get the hang out it soon!

Stamp - CC designs swiss pixies, Promarkers, white gel pen and stickes to colour, DP - Cosmo Cricket, Card - SU, Buttons - Autumn Leaves, Flowers from stash, Ribbon - East of India (goes lovely with these papers!), Martha Stewart flourish punch (from Stampeezee), nesties.

Feel the Joy

Something a little different from me today. Thought I'd use my much loved but neglected Unity stamps (tut, tut, they are gorgeous!). Been having a sort through my stamps and found ones i forgot I had! This card is quite simple and was quick to put together but I'm quite pleased with it. Lovin' Kraft cardstock at the moment, I'm sure you will be seeing me using this a lot! I would like to enter this for the my time to craft challenge which is forgotten or neglected stash! Easy peasy, most of my poor stash is neglected! lol.

Stamps - Unity stamp co feel the joy set, sentiment SU, card stock SU, versamark ink pad, white embossing powder, heat tool, SU distressing tool, Ribbon SU (taffeta and gingham - my fav!), brads, Tim Holtz frayed burlap distress ink pad and white ink pads, corner rounder.

I wanted to use a distress spray on this card but some of my craft supplies are still at my mum and dad's! (got too much to keep it all here at the mo!). So this will have to do, maybe I'll make a similar one soon.

I might be back later with something else to show, just come off nights and I'm back on days tomorrow, my body clock is shot, so don't feel like venturing far today, plus the dull rainy weather only adds to that feeling!

Thank you so much for looking!

One card three challenges!

Well I've finally done it, made a card that combines three challenges! As I've recently brought some promarkers I thought I'd give them a go. First impressions are that they are great but I need some practice. But not too bad for a first attempt, I'll have to check out some of the tutorials out there. So I'm entering my card for the passion for promarkers challenge. The colours to use were pastel pink and cool aqua, there is also a great sketch to follow. I'll also enter this for the Just magnolia and simon says challenges as I've used distressing on my card and that's the required element for those challenges!

Image - Magnolia
Sentiment - Stampin' up oval all set
Cardstock - SU, DP - DCVW
Colouring medium - promarkers and white gel pen
Flowers - Hobby craft (accented with shimmer paints)
Tools - leaf punch (woodware), nesties, Stampin' up oval and scallop oval punches, SU distressing tool, piercing tool
Ribbon - Stampeezee
Pin - ebay

I've had some new stash over the past week or so and got another SU order on the way! (Plus a few other little things in the post too!). I've had to be good for a while with moving in and decorating our cottage, holiday and my dad's 50th, most my spare pocket money has gone on these things. So now we are more settled and a few other things are out of the way I've got a little extra pocket money for all things crafty again!!!

So I suppose I better get using some of it! Can't wait to use my Swiss Pixies stamps-Love 'em!
I've also been trying to organise my craft supplies and I'm in the process of creating some stamp storage files.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!

hugs and smiles,
