Pick of the patch!

Just a quickie today as been to work and I'm tired after a busy few days! Here is the card that I made for Adrian for his birthday. Had to have this stamp and love the sentiment too!

Supplies: Stamp and sentiment - CC designs/ cardstock, ribbon, DP - SU/ Raffia lace - hobbycraft/ buttons from stash.

Hopefully I'll get chance over the next few days to play with my new stash, got some new Whiff of Joy, Papertrey ink and CC designs Christmas stamps that I can't wait to ink up! I'll also be announcing follower of the fortnight as I'm behind with this again.

Also got our Paper Scissors Craft group tomorrow night which I'm looking forward to. I have also got my first attempt at a sewing project to share with you, the lovely Caroline helped me with this yesterday, I had fun spending time at her quilting studio in Leamington, thank you for your hospitality and patience honey!

Birthday Wishes!

Just wanted to jump on and say a big Happy Birthday to Adrian and my little sis, Natalie, they share the same birthday (both bonfire night baby's!) and as you can imagine that makes it quite a busy day around here! I love them both so much and hope that they both have a great day, here is to many many more! So blessed to have you both in my life.

Have had a lovely day, popped to see my sis and then have had a lovely day at home with Adrian, he has had his family round, so I did a little buffet for everyone. Hectic but fun!

Hope to get back to posting and visiting blogs again soon. I'll share a pic of the card I made adrian tomorrow just can't get a decent pic once it gets dark! So busy at the mo and bound to only get more hectic as Christmas approaches. Love it though!

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween folks!

Well I never really got round to doing many Halloween projects this year, just these few things I'm afraid. Shame as I think it's really fun and did have some more stamps and papers I wanted to use. Oh well maybe next year. My new job has been my priority this month. I've pulled out my Halloween decorations though and got some sweeties for the trick or treaters! I've got pumpkins from the local farm shop but want to turn them into pumpkin pie later in the week, so haven't carved them.

Trick or treat ... A little candy for you!

Hi there, sorry I've been absent from blogland, I've been away on a course in London for work for a few days, had a fab time, the company really spoilt us with their hospitality, lovely hotel and meal etc, nice to finally have a perk to my job! It's not the NHS paying for this by the way it's all the medical appliance and pharmaceutical companies before you think that's where the NHS budget is going! I'm more used to having no lunch break and working over without being paid for it in the NHS! Unfortunately (or rather fortunately for my bank balance) I had no time for shopping in London though! boo hoo.

I'm way behind with my Halloween projects now, hopefully will have them on here over the next few days. So behind with things now. I'm just getting chance to visit my favourite blogs out there in blogland.

Pumpkin season!

I know you will probably think I'm daft but I have a thing for pumpkins! Don't ask me why, I really don't know. Probably because I love autumn and they seem to symbolise the season and the harvest time. They are also fun for Halloween. Went to the local farm shop and brought my first pumpkin today which will be turned into pumpkin pie later in the week! I've got my pumpkin decorations out and my pumpkin spice Yankee candles burning, they smell delish! I even live over the street from Pumpkin Deli! Yes, I'm obsessed. Told ya you would think I'm mad!

So when I got this pumpkin stamp in the the September Unity Kit of The Month I had to use it, it's adorable!

We have Adrian's mum and dad's dog, Henry staying with us for a few days and as today was my day off, my mum and Sister brought our dog Scruffy over and we went for a lovely long walk around the surrounding countryside with them, nice fresh air, it was a proper autumn day! I love living in the countryside, I find it really inspires me! So watch out for some more fall/Halloween projects over the next week or so. It seems to be passing by so quickly so I'm trying to make the most of it.

Henry Mouse

I'm sorry but it's another Christmas creation from me today, it's only 9 weeks away Friday! Arragh, better get cracking.

I am loving the Whiff of Joy Christmas stamps featuring this adorable little fella! Henry the mouse.

Apologies for lack of blogging but the last four days I've had awful tooth ache and dental pain, went to the dentist yesterday and my wisdom teeth are grinding together and causing trauma and an abscess. The dentist has tried to file/push one of them back (which was uncomfortable) and I will have to see how it goes, if no improvement them I will need to have them out, had one out the other side a few years back! Pesky teeth! On antibiotics for the abscess. That with my back still recovering has left me feeling tired! One thing after another lately! I know there are many other people out there a lot worse of so can't complain really.

I'm also busy with my new job etc and will be off to London for a course for a few days next week.

As I've been so busy I'm behind with follower of the week again, I think I'll change it to follower of the fortnight as that is more manageable. I'll announce the follower of the last fortnight later this week.

I know, I know, I'm in Christmas card mode! Just trying to get ahead. Have so many to make, so little time, lol. I'm in the process of making a few Halloween projects too and using some of my Autumn stamps, before it passes me by!

Supplies: stamps and paper Imaginesce/ promarkers to colour/ fiskars threading water punch/ bobble trim/ spellbinders nestabilities/ all available from Stampeezee.

I used glitter spray over the sentiment and image, it is by crafter's companion and also from Stampeezee, absolutely loving this stuff, such a great effect, it stinks when you spray it though! I'm on glitter overload in prep for the sparkle season! You can't see the effect that well in the photo but IRL it looks fab.

It's been another busy week, settling into my new job nicely, lots of reading etc for me to do. Trying to find time to relax as my back is still really stiff and achey and most importantly time to craft! lol. Have you seen the new PTI releases, think I may need to remortgage! lol.

Just Rite Stamps!

All Santa's Reindeer

Well what a week! Firstly I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who left me lovely comments or sent emails regarding our accident, you are all such lovely people! Also I would like to thank our family for all their help this past week and my best friend Daniela and her mum Yvette for the lovely plant basket they sent, such a sweet thought. You are all such kind and considerate people, thank you so much.

We are doing OK, our necks/backs are still very stiff and sore, lots of aches and pains etc but we are still pleased that things were not worse. Poor Adrian is dealing with the insurance etc. I made it into work for my first few days in my new job and I am really enjoying it, I'm working with such a great team, they were really good about what happened. My mum picked me up for work as I did not feel up to driving as I had limited movement. My mum is also now working in the same department which is good! So far, so good, I think I will enjoy my new role, although I've got lots to learn!

I have just managed this quick and simple Christmas card using one of my Unity stamps from last year.

The ladies that won the candy thank you for your patience, I've now packages them up and will have them out to you come Monday.

Accident

Just a quick post to let you know that I here but may not be posting much this week.

Adrian and I were involved in car accident yesterday, we had been out shopping and were slowing down to turn right on a dual carriage way when a car ploughed into the back of us at approx 50-60mph and pushed us into the path of an on coming lorry. Thank the lord we were not hit by the lorry, Adrian just about managed to keep control of the car. We both ended up in A & E department, the impact has left us both with terrible whiplash injuries and aches and pains all over. I have had whiplash and back trouble in the past so my poor back is really feeling it. I have been feeling a bit run down lately anyway and this has just left me feeling exhausted. Hence mojo and motivation go out the window again! Typical as I'm due to start my new job on Wednesday, I'll have to hobble into work, thank goodness for painkillers! We were really shaken and shocked at the time. Just goes to show you never know what is around the corner, really scary to think that one minute you are just going about your business and the next it could be all over. Hold onto life with both hands and live the life you dream of!

God must have been watching over us and I thank him for keeping us safe. We are very lucky to be here and I count my blessings!

Our families have helped us out the last two days and I am thankful too that we are surrounded by such loving, caring and helpful people.

I'm at work tomorrow for on my last long shift on the ward, so I'll be missing out on all the World Card Making day fun on the www, but to those of you that are able I wish you a happy day full of crafting!

I enjoy all aspects of crafting and blogging, especially visiting all the amazing blogs out there and being inspired and awed everyday my all the talent out there in blogland. Exciting News!

My friend Gemma and I have decided to start a craft group here in Coventry! We have been thinking about this for a while and have now found a venue to hold our event.

It will be the 2nd Monday of each month, starting 12 October from 7 - 9pm at Hearsall Baptist Church (on the corner of Hearsall Lane and Queensland Ave, Chapelfields, CV5)

This is an opportunity to meet other crafters and share ideas and inspiration. There will be refreshments provided, all levels of crafters welcome!

There will also be occasional workshops/make and takes etc. For more information please visit the blog

Miss clause!

I just love these Christmas Manga's from Sugar Nellie, have been itching to ink them up too! I have used the fab sketch over at sketch Saturday and have got cracking on my Christmas cards. Although I thought i would have made more whilst being off work this week but the week has whizzed by and I'm feeling a bit out of sorts to be honest, felt better over the weekend but started feeling yucky again once the antibiotics finished! Typical when I've got time off. Anyhoo, here is the card I made.

Supplies: Stamp - Sugar nellie coloured with promarkers and white gel pen to accent, used liquid applique and glitter on her fur trim / DP - DCWV/ Ribbon - SU/ Dew drops - Robin's nest/ Buttons and thread from stash as is the sentiment sign/ Tools - nesties.

Autumn Wishes

Finally got around to making a card! There is a fab sketch to follow over at a spoonful of sugar, so I used that for this card and some of my new craft stash that I got for my birthday! I love autumn, it is my favourite season, I love the colours, I love watching the leaves turn to all the rich beautiful colours. I like the fact the the sun still shines but there is a slight crispness in the air and it's time for all the snugly sweaters to come out! I was born in the autumn and I'm an earth sign, so maybe that has something to do with it too.

I'm enjoying my holiday from work, funny though 'cos you don't realise how worn out you are until you stop! Visited my dear friend Becky in Nottingham yesterday, it was great to catch up, we hadn't seen each other in ages. I couldn't believe how big their son Ewan is now (he is 4 tomorrow) and was lovely to meet baby Oliver for the first time!

Birthday Celebrations!

Hi everyone! Well it was my birthday on Saturday and thankfully I was feeling much better. (Thank you for the get well wishes!)

I had a fantastic time, it started on Friday evening, Adrian brought flowers home from work for me and took me for a lovely meal at a local restaurant. Then I got up Saturday and had some lovely cards and gifts to open! I have been spoilt! Lots of lovely new clothes, some boots, Twilight DVD, accessories/jewellery, flowers, some lovely home decor items and of course some new craft stash! I also had some birthday money, I wonder what that will be spent on?!?!

My family, including Scruffy came round to see me and brought me my presents and some birthday cake! We then went for a drink at our local pub, it was a glorious day so we sat outside, we then had a nice meal, some of my family then went home and then, me, Adrian, my mum and dad went into the pub and there was some fantastic entertainment on and we sat and chatted and had a great laugh. Nice quaility time together.

Then on Sunday Adrian's mum and dad came over with Henry (their border terrier) and we had a lovely walk and picnic at Coombe Abbey Country park. The weather was amazing, so was good to make the most of it while it lasts!

It was the best kind of birthday, spent with those I love dearly. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life (family and friends!), they mean the world to me. Thank you all for making this a birthday to remember. Also to Adrian for spoiling me on my special day, there were banners everywhere and I even got a cup of tea in bed! lol. I'll cherish the memories of my first birthday in our first home forever. Also big hugs and kisses to everyone for all my lovely birthday presents and cards. I'm one lucky girl!

Swiss Pixie

Sorry for the lack of creations lately, my mojo seems to have gone AWOL, probably due to work being so stressful the last few weeks. Looking forward to starting my new job, a change is as good as a rest they say! It has left me feeling run down and I've got a grotty urinary tract infection and am on antibiotics, spent yesterday afternoon in bed and had to have a lie down today as well, unlike me to sleep in the day, usually always on the go! Hope I'm better for Saturday as it's my birthday!

I just about mustered up the energy to finish this card today to share with you. Took the photo outside as it was a dull day! Love my new sizzix flower die set, seen these on Sarah's blog - Card Oasis and had to get them. Not sure the flower works on this card though! I'd like to enter this into the passion for promarkers challenge which is any colour and polka dots this week. I've got the polka dots on the DP.
